The outdoor night anomaly is what eventually comes after you if you linger outside once night has started. Night can begin at 8:00 p.m. The warning is a dark filter that gradually covers your screen. There is no published countdown. On some nights the game will not let you outside at all. Getting jostled by the entities can kill you before morning. Daytime footage does not show this threat.

Stop the potato run and go inside as soon as the filter appears. Do not chase it. Stay in until 8:00 a.m. The shop clock, bought during the day, can skip the night instead.
